Just A Shadow
Here’s one part of one of the most well known scriptures - known and recited by nearly every believer:
“He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” - Psalms 23:3 (NKJV)
We must not just read over this part, but rather make the effort to understand it. All that Jesus does in leading you is to get you - not just into greener pastures and beside peaceful/still waters, and not even to bring you to a place where your enemies will have to witness your provision and protection.
He leads you through the valley of the shadow of death in order to and in an effort to restore your soul. When your soul (mind, will, and emotions) is still being influenced by the enemy in any way, he is able to keep a thumb on the pulse of your destiny. He keeps a shadow of darkness, a hidden weakness that he will eventually try to use to destroy you and others.
The restoration of your soul is forever necessary as long as we live in the earth, and the only way to do that is to allow The Life Light, your Good Shepherd, to lead you through those dark places in your soul; places created, planted, and caused by the enemy to destroy you.
Jesus knows the way out; the way to restoration. All that you have to do is trust Him and let Him lead you. He will expose those places and things that look and feel like death; those things that represent shame and disappointment. He’s leading you THROUGH them - not TO them!
It’s just a shadow!
It’s just a a shadow that His light is revealing the truth about! Today, in prayer, ask The Lord for the light of His glory to come and reveal every dark place. Reveal every shadow that is hiding, waiting for the opportunity to destroy, discourage, or distract you.
He has a table prepared for you. Will you let Him lead you to it?
