Double Minded
In 1 Kings chapter 8, we read about people who were under a demonic spell that resulted in double mindedness.
Double mindedness is an evil root planted by the enemy that produces the fruit of doubt and unbelief. It keeps your faith from working/growing and keeps you from receiving what God has for you. (James 1)
The people in 1 Kings 18 were not sure of what they believed, who they believed in, or who they were supposed to follow. They had one foot in belief in God and one foot in belief in Baal. Their double mindedness and spiritual deficit created a natural famine.
READ THAT AGAIN.
Elijah knew that the only thing that could confront that spirit of double mindedness, deceit, and idolatry was God’s holy fire. In the days of Elijah, the fire that rained down from heaven upon the altar was proof that there is only ONE TRUE God. It was proof of the natural rain that was coming to end the famine, and it was proof that God was getting ready to end all doubt and double mindedness and to deal with his enemies QUICKLY.
Many of you reading this are like the people of Israel were then…on the fence with your relationship with God, double minded, and wanting to know Him more one day and being pulled back into the trauma, drama, and sin of the world the next.
This lifestyle of double mindedness has led to both a spiritual and natural famine in your life, and the Lord wants you to know today that His answer is still the same now as it was back then.
He wants to release His Holy Fire in your life and deal with your spiritual enemies swiftly! All you have to do is call upon Him! Invite Him to release His holy fire into your life and to burn up every single thing that He didn’t place there; everything that is not of Him.
I want you to know that I’m calling with you and for you today. My prayer is that you will let the God who answers by fire be YOUR God.
It’s time to choose a side and stick with it. That’s where your faith grows and produces. That’s where your prayers are answered and where peace comes rushing in.
