Keeping Momentum
Momentum is defined as the amount of motion occurring in something that is moving, or the force that drives something forward to keep it moving.
As we mature in the things of God and we develop a real relationship with Him, we being to gain momentum in fulfilling destiny. There is no more looking back or stopping for a season. Your life is moving forward at the rate of God’s perfect will.
It is a glorious thing to be headed in the direction that God has called you in and to gain momentum as you pursue Him and His perfect will for your life!
However, I would like to remind you today that when you start gaining momentum in the Lord, it is very easy to begin to feel like you’ve “got it.” You go into auto pilot mode and start “handling” things yourself and “making things happen,” instead of relying on God. Without even realizing it, you start feeling holy enough, anointed enough, well-trained enough, and strong enough to face your day, your calling, your fears, your failures, and your life in general without consulting Him daily.
Here is your shake-back moment of TRUTH: if it gets too heavy and you find yourself wanting to give up and quit, it’s because you stopped casting and started carrying what was never meant to be carried by YOU.
In the Kingdom of God, the strongest is not who can carry the most, but rather, who can learn to cast the best.
We must never have a day where we forget that the momentum pushing us in the right direction is the Holy Spirit that we have taken time to know, surrender to, be taught by, and receive correction/direction/instruction from.
Nothing is ever done in our own strength, so we live our lives casting every care and being completely dependent upon the One who cares for us. This is the only way that we gain and keep true momentum in the spirit.
Father God will always sustain what He ordains.
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.”
