High Praise

We are currently living in the days of “I don’t need to go to church to be a Christian,” but I have been studying Psalm chapter 149, and I’d like to encourage you to NOT fall for the hype!

The psalmist in this chapter tells us to: “PRAISE the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, praise Him in the ASSEMBLY of His saints!” (Psalm 149:1 AMPC)

He then goes on to tell us the results that we will have when we assemble together with other believers and begin to praise Him. Here’s just a few:

“For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation and adorn the wretched with victory.” (Psalm 149:9 AMPC)

Finally, he tells us of a different kind of praise that arises when we come together to praise God. He tells us that a HIGH praise should fill our throats. If there is a high praise, then we can only conclude that there is also a low praise and a mid-level praise and so on.

In other words, it’s possible for our praise to get higher and higher. When we gather together and begin to praise Jesus, our praise changes because our view and understanding of Jesus changes. The more that we see Him and know Him, the higher our praise becomes. We are now praising from a faith that believes completely in who He is and in His goodness and faithfulness.

We are not praising from our problems and hoping that they will change. We are praising from our position - seated with Jesus in Heavenly places! (Ephesians 2:6)

When our praise “shifts gears” into high praise, the Word tells us that we begin to do warfare over nations! We obtain victory over principalities and wicked rulers as we increase the Kingdom of God in the earth. In other words, when we begin to lift up high praise to God, we begin to do serious kingdom business, and all of Heaven has our back!

High praise goes into high places and regains territories for the Lord while also taking care of business concerning you personally.

I’d like to challenge you to - for the rest of this year - be mindful of the kind of praise that you’re offering up. Ask yourself if you are praising Jesus from the midst of your problem, your worry, and/or your concern, or are you praising Him from your place and position in Him?

THIS has the power to change everything…even the nations.
